About Flying Pancake

Since May 2005

After having worked for years as a manager at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines the opportunity came about to start a Bed & Breakfast in our own monumental townhouse, with the help of my husband Hans. This career change benefitted our growing family life and was the start of an exciting period of building a business of our own.

Our own travel experiences, both for holidays as well as for business, served as input for the design of what our Bed & Breakfast would be like.

After a thorough renovation, with respect to the listed status as a National Historic Building, we created two floors with a combination of a classic touch with modern comfort for our Bed & Breakfast.

The Flying Pancake B&B opened in May 2005. Since then we have had the pleasure to welcome guests from all over the world. This year The Flying Pancake celebrates her 18 year anniversary!

We have a bit of a legacy to live up to. It is not enough that you enjoy your stay with us. Our goal is to have you thinking more along the lines of “I wish I could stay longer”…

We are proud of the fact that with our consistency in service, and professionalism we earned Tripadvisor’ s Certificate of Excellence in 2011, 2013 and 2014, and were the Traveller’s Choice winner in 2012!

Sustainibility

Sustainability is not just a word to us, but it is something we embrace. We are always looking for ways to work in a more sustainable way, whether it is in choosing materials, selecting the foods we offer, working with an electrical taxi company or gradually transforming our lighting into LED light.
